-Hygenco to set up green hydrogen/ammonia project at Tata Steel SEZ’s Gopalpur Industrial Park

BHUBANESWAR, India, May 8, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — HHP Five Private Limited (subsidiary of Hygenco Green Energies Pvt Ltd), a pioneer in low-cost green hydrogen production, has formally signed a binding agreement with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Industrial Park (GIP) to set up a large-scale green ammonia project in Gopalpur, Odisha.

Hygenco aims to produce 1.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green ammonia from this plant in multiple phases. Hygenco aims to launch the initial phase of the project by December 2026. This collaboration is based on the project approval received in February 2024 from the High Level Clearance Authority of the esteemed office of the Chief Minister.

Hygenco has signed several binding long-term green hydrogen acquisitions in India, including the country’s first megawatt-scale plant recently commissioned for a major steel company in Hisar, Haryana. Another one is being built for STL (Vendanta Group) in Maharashtra.
