The Íkualo neobank announced this Monday its landing in Spain with the objective of opening 50,000 accounts in its first year while they intend to reach six other European countries (United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Holland) between now and spring 2024.
The entity has indicated in a press release that they are focused on providing services to immigrants residing in Europe, since there are more than 23 million people who cannot pay by card and face financial exclusion due to their immigration status.
In this sense, the neobank, which has a European electronic money institution license, has highlighted that it will allow its users to open an online bank account as well as have a card in physical format only with the possession of a passport, reside in Europe and pass an identity verification process.
Likewise, the entity has specified that its clients will be able to have access to different financial solutions and products such as microcredits, international money transfers, bill payments from Europe, repatriation insurance, prepaid mobile recharges from Europe or mortgage loans for purchases. of a home in their country of origin.
The founder of Íkualo, Harold Correa, has explained that the idea of the company was born from his own experience with the purpose of promoting financial inclusion through access to financial services and products specifically designed to meet the needs of the growing population. migrant
