MADRID, 1 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
CCOO and UGT mobilize thousands of people this Wednesday, May 1, in Madrid under the slogan ‘For full employment: shorter hours, better salaries’, in a protest act in which they have asked for the reduction of working hours by law.
The Madrid demonstration started a few minutes after 12:00 p.m. led by the general secretaries of CCOO and UGT, Unai Sordo and Pepe Álvarez, as well as the general secretaries of Madrid, Paloma López and Marina Prieto.
In it, statements were made by the Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, the First Vice President and Minister of Finance, Maria Jesús Montero, and the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz.
The unions have called demonstrations for May 1 in more than 70 cities in Spain.
