As the program deepens communication in countries along the program route, Zhuyeqing tea will be introduced as a “Gift from China”
Madrid, September 8, 2023.- The year 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of China’s New Silk Road Initiative. On this occasion of promoting exchanges and cooperation between countries, China also launches a series of activities to review the achievements of the Initiative. Ahead of China’s Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese state news agency Xinhua’s “Chasing the Dream of the Belt and Road Initiative” program arrived in Kazakhstan, the Initiative’s first stop. Zhuyeqing tea was presented as a “gift from China” to Nugerbekov Serik Nugerbekovich, president of the International Secretariat of Kazakhstan’s state strategy agency, G-Global, at Nazarbayev University. Nugerbekov Serik Nugerbekovich sent his congratulations on the gift, agreeing with the meaning of “tea is for sharing” that Zhuyeqing tea embodies and wishing for a global festival of reunion with tea as a medium.
It is reported that the “Chasing the Dream of the Belt and Road Initiative” program will run for more than 90 days from Chongqing to Lisbon, covering 22,000 kilometers and 15 Eurasian countries. As the program deepens communication in countries along the program route, Zhuyeqing tea will be presented as a “Gift from China.” This exotic and attractive tea from China will arrive in Spain soon.
China and Spain celebrate this year the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which is also the 10th anniversary of the New Silk Road Initiative. China is currently Spain’s largest trading partner outside the European Union. Tea is a bridge between economic and commercial exchanges, highlighting fifty years of deep friendship between the two countries. Chinese tea arrived in Spain through the Maritime Silk Road already in the Age of Sailing. Nowadays, Spaniards love the way Chinese tea is enjoyed, and Chinese green tea with mint leaves has become a popular drink in Spain.
Zhuyeqing tea, the “Gift of China”, has been the best-selling premium green tea in China for 15 consecutive years and has been presented as gifts to honored guests from 60 countries. With tea buds harvested in high mountain regions before the Qingming Festival, Zhuyeqing tea has been featured as a global gift at international media events such as the Dubai World Expo, Davos Forum and UNESCO International Tea Day. Spain and China are expanding and deepening their relations in many areas as the Initiative progresses. This teacup also symbolizes cultural exchange and an everlasting relationship.
