MADRID, 6 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Comisiones Obreras union assures that the payroll of public employees will increase by 0.5% next October, as a result of the Framework Agreement for a 21st Century Administration, signed by the union and UGT with the Government at the General Table of public administrations.
As agreed, the payrolls of public employees would rise in 2023 by a fixed 2.5%, with the possibility of two variable increases, of 0.5% each. The first will be applied if the harmonized CPI for 2022 and 2023 exceeds 6% and the second variable of 0.5 would operate if nominal GDP in 2023 exceeds that forecast by the Government (2.1%).
Although the publication of the IPCA at the end of September has yet to be confirmed, from the CCOO they consider that “everything indicates” that the IPCA from 2022 will be higher than 6% (with the current data it would be 8.3%), with which This new increase in the salary of officials would have to take place, which will be retroactive from January 2023.
In addition, the CCOO union has indicated through a statement that a new increase is also possible for this 2023, despite the fact that it would be charged in the first months of 2024. It is a new increase of 0.5%, retroactive from January of 2023 if the growth of Spanish GDP this year reaches 2.1%.
CCOO has also recalled the increases planned for 2024, which will be 2%, plus another 0.5% in October 2024 if purchasing power has not been recovered in these years.
