The IFA Group, which counts among its associates Ahorramás, Bon Preu, Condis, Dinosol or Gadisa Retail, increased its consolidated sales by 9% in 2022, reaching 36,128 million euros, thanks to its presence in Spain, Portugal and Italy .
Specifically, the consolidated turnover in Spain reached 16,627 million euros, 10% more than the previous year, as reported by the multinational in a statement on Wednesday.
The group has indicated that in 2022 it managed to consolidate itself as “the leading operator” in southern Europe, with a total commercial area of 7.8 million square meters, 3.9% more than in 2021, while the company added 490 new establishments, reaching 11,555 throughout Spain, Portugal and Italy, with growth of 4.4%.
The group has reached a market share of 14.2% of retail space with the sum of the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian markets, according to data from the Nielsen consultancy.
The group has explained that all this has been thanks to its international program, which began in 2016 with the adhesion of the Portuguese group Sonae MC and was consolidated through the alliance with the Italian Gruppo VéGé in 2018.
At the national level, IFA closes 2022 with a network of 6,345 stores and a commercial area of 4 million square meters, with a market share by area of 19.5% in the retail channel and 31.2% for the wholesale channel .
In terms of employment, the IFA Group companies have created 4,068 new jobs in 2022, of which 1,603 were generated in Spain. In total, the companies in the group employ 90,640 people in Spain, representing year-on-year growth of 1.8%, while for the whole of Spain, Portugal and Italy, the IFA group employs more than 144,000 people, a 2.9% more than in 2021.
