In this way, the two entities join forces to promote home care and assistance to palliative care patients who need it, thus adding value to the services offered by the university clinic.
Barcelona, June 19, 2023.- The International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) and Asisted, a private non-profit entity with extensive experience in home care services for elderly people, people with functional diversity or who are in a situation, they have signed a collaboration agreement through which both entities expand their services by offering quality care to all those who need it, contributing to their well-being.
Committed to society and the well-being of the most vulnerable people, UIC Barcelona and Asisted pool their experience and resources to respond to the needs of people with advanced diseases or functional limitations, both in hospitals and at home. Through this collaboration, both entities offer professional support so that both patients and their families receive personalized care that improves their quality of life.
As a result of the agreement, Cuides UIC Barcelona patients will be able to access Asisted services under special conditions, and Asisted users and their families will be able to receive medical and psychosocial care from the clinic’s team of professionals, either through admission or outpatient consultation. . Likewise, Cuides UIC Barcelona will collaborate in the Asisted training plan to improve the training level of its professionals in the field of palliative care.
Josep Maria Torné, manager of UIC Barcelona, and Gabriel Calzado, president of Asisted, participated in the signing of the agreement, accompanied by José Maria García Navas, manager of the UIC Barcelona clinics; Gabriela Calzado, commercial director of Asisted; Juan Pablo Garrido, Director of Corporate Development at UIC Barcelona; and Mariona Guerrero, care coordinator of Cuides UIC Barcelona.
The Cuides UIC Barcelona clinic, which opened its doors a year ago, is the first university clinic in Spain specializing in palliative care.

ASISTED is a private, non-profit, social entity with more than 40 years of experience in home care services for dependent people.
ASISTED is a collaborating entity for the provision of the home help service, registered in the Register of Entities, Services and Social Establishments of the Department of Social Rights of the Generalitat de Catalunya, with number S07169 and in the Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Policy of the Community of Madrid, authorized with registration number S8133 and S8134.
