MADRID, 12 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish listed companies distributed 12,980 million euros in dividends in the first five months of the year, 13.7% more than in the same period of 2022, according to data from the Spanish Stock Exchanges and Markets (BME).
However, this figure remains 4.66% below that reached between January and May 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic and when the listed companies distributed 13,616 million euros.
In the month of May alone, these companies distributed a total of 4,589 million euros, 30.3% more than in May 2022.
However, this data is lower than the ‘rain’ of dividends that was recorded in April, when companies distributed a total of 5,738 million, 29.2% more than in the same month last year.
In March, 311 million euros were distributed, 56.1% less than in the same month of 2022, while in February the figure was 311 million euros, 78.5% less.
However, in the first month of this 2023, the listed companies gave their shareholders a total of 2,028 million euros, 52.4% more.
