The research focused on the attitudes of the British towards popular television series – and their musical themes – and the effect that these opinions have on television buying decisions. Half (49%) of those surveyed watch their favorite shows to relax, and a third (30%) do so to strengthen family ties.
With this in mind, it’s no wonder so many British households were planning to upgrade their TVs (34%). Image quality (73%), screen size (70%) and sound quality (58%) are consumers’ top priorities when making a purchase.
Television is recognized as playing a key role in British culture, with a third of respondents (29%) considering television to be a ‘national pastime’ and the same percentage saying that watching good television makes them happier.
