MADRID, 27 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The net sales of the Dia group increased by 10% in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2022, to a total of 1,781.3 million euros, as reported by the company on Thursday, which specified that, in comparable terms, the sales rose 7% and thus chained four consecutive quarters of increases.
In Spain, gross sales under banner increased by 10.2%, to 1,324.6 million euros, with a growth in comparable sales of 13% if the stores sold to Alcampo and the Clarel operation are excluded.
In 2022, the company announced two operations relevant to the perimeter of stores in Spain with the aim of advancing its strategy focused on local food distribution.
On the one hand, the sale of a group of large-format stores to Alcampo and, on the other, the sale of Clarel, the business unit dedicated to personal and home care.
The National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) authorized the sale operation to Alcampo on March 3 and, to date, 82 of the 224 stores finally agreed have been transferred.
The Clarel sale operation is still pending approval by the regulator and its closing is expected throughout 2023, as indicated by the group in a communication sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
