MADRID, 8 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Renfe’s digital competence centers (CCD) will generate 625 new jobs this year and a contribution to Spain’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 18.5 million euros, including more than 6.4 million euros in direct and indirect taxes .
These are some of the conclusions of a socioeconomic study carried out by KPMG for LogiRail, a subsidiary of Renfe, to which Europa Press has had access and which analyzes the six centers launched by the company since 2021 throughout the country.
The first of them opened in March 2021 in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real) and is focused on digital robotization technologies and intelligent data analysis, helping Renfe’s digital transformation.
From there, it inaugurated the one in Linares (Jaén) for customer service, the one in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos) for software maintenance, the one in Teruel for the maintenance of technological infrastructures, another in Mérida to support its app Doco, and that of Monforte de Lemos (Lugo) to detect, analyze and correct cybersecurity incidents.
The study shows that these centers have contributed to equal opportunities in small and medium-sized towns with large cities, promoting development and modernization in them, and encouraging the incorporation of women into a predominantly male technological ecosystem.
The socioeconomic impact on the populations where these centers are located is mainly certified in the creation of new jobs, both direct and indirect, as well as the induced improvements that they cause in their environment.
The LogiRail centers aim to boost technological efficiency, accelerate the company’s digital transformation and place Renfe in the knowledge and application of key digital technologies in the railway liberalization scenario.
The objective of the CCDs is to internalize and transfer part of the central services of the operator to towns with a low population density, where it has spaces as they are enclaves of special rail relevance, in line with the national strategies for the demographic challenge and agenda digital.
