FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC), a leading global agricultural sciences company, and The HALO Trust, a non-governmental humanitarian organization that protects lives and restores livelihoods for people affected by conflict, today announced a new collaboration to improve agricultural security in Ukraine.

Under the umbrella of its Cultivating Freedom campaign, FMC will donate 3% of its 2023 sales revenue in Ukraine to significantly expand its demining efforts in affected regions across the country. With this funding, The HALO Trust will be able to significantly increase its ability to remove landmines from Ukrainian farms.

“We are proud to announce our partnership with The HALO Trust: for more than three decades, their extensive mine clearance activities have helped improve security and livelihoods in many conflict-affected countries,” said Mark Douglas, President and CEO of The HALO Trust. FMC. “This project not only ensures that Ukrainian farmers can safely return to their fields to plant and harvest, but also contributes to improving food security around the world. Through this collaboration, we aspire to contribute to a future in which that farmers can farm their land without fear of the explosive remnants of war and pave the way for strong reconstruction efforts that benefit farming communities and the entire country.”

James Cowan, CEO of The HALO Trust, said: “We are very grateful for FMC’s generous commitment to fund our work to save lives in Ukraine. It will allow us to invest in the personnel, equipment and new technology necessary for the enormous task to protect Ukraine from land mines, bombs and shells. With the support of FMC, we will deploy demining teams and critical demining teams to clear the land of Ukrainian farmers, their families and their communities.”

The collaboration between FMC and The HALO Trust will start in April in various communities in Ukraine.
