– A study carried out by IR highlights the challenges faced by IT teams when faced with unified communications and collaboration (UC) environments
SYDNEY, March 27, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — IR (ASX:IRI), the world’s leading provider of performance management and analytics for unified communications and collaboration, IT infrastructure and payment ecosystems, today announced the results of research between IT professionals in Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC) environments
IT Time Crunch study revealed that 25% of IT professionals waste more than one workday per week on UC tasks
“Shockingly, one in four IT professionals surveyed spend an entire day a week unnecessarily on UC tasks. This, in turn, has a tremendous impact on costs and productivity. IT teams need more visibility and controls to manage the complexities of their controlled and unified communications ecosystems,” said John Ruthven, CEO and General Manager of IR.
The report details the results of a recent survey of 214 IT professionals from the US, UK and Singapore, nearly 40% working in organizations with more than 10,000 end users.
Their main challenges include wasting time troubleshooting, especially those they are unaware of until they are informed. The research also indicates the toll this increasing workload takes, with IT teams becoming the “fire department” of an organization. Many of those surveyed changed roles or left their job in the last three years in search of a better work-life balance and better working conditions.
Performance monitoring and management solutions can help IT teams identify the causes of these problems without losing crucial work hours.
