Grenergy has signed a long-term solar energy sale agreement to supply LyondellBasell with 259 megawatts (MW) of green energy within the framework of the Clara Campoamor photovoltaic solar project (575 MW), as reported by the company to the National Commission on Friday. of the Stock Market (CNMV).

Specifically, the agreement that Grenergy has closed with the Dutch multinational contemplates the sale of long-term energy of approximately 330 gigawatt hours (GWh) per year, and will last 15 years, activating at the end of 2025.

The contract has been signed for part of the Clara Campoamor photovoltaic solar energy project, which the company is developing between the autonomous communities of Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha and which will have an installed capacity of 575 megawatts peak (MWp), becoming “one of the largest photovoltaic parks in Europe”, according to Grenergy.

As the renewable energy producer has explained, with this long-term energy sale (PPA), Grenergy expects to double its European portfolio, going from the current 25% to 45% by 2025.

The company has stressed that by 2025 they expect the park to generate enough energy to supply 94,600 homes, while saving approximately 85,470 tons of carbon dioxide.

According to David Ruiz de AndrĂ©s, CEO of Grenergy, “having a proven structure and capacity to close PPAs is key to continuing to maintain the pace of connections and achieving strategic objectives.”
