Yecla (Murcia), February 21, 2023.- The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of Graphenano Dental’s nanoreinforced biopolymer discs, with graphene to make dental prostheses. . Following FDA approval, Graphenano Dental will introduce this dental material in the United States, a key country for the company’s expansion.
The company, based in Yecla (Murcia), has already been marketing G-Cam discs for three years in around thirty countries, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, Israel, the Dominican Republic and Spain, where it is sold exclusively to professionals.
Entering the American market will make it possible to “consolidate this product”, which has aroused “great interest” in the United States for some time, as explained by the CEO of Graphenano Dental, Jesús Martínez. “We started years ago with the collaboration of different American universities to consolidate the launch of the product and, with the agreements that we are closing, we are going to direct the distribution of the product to provide a technical and support service to all our customers directly, with holding courses and face-to-face events”, he added.
G-Cam discs incorporate graphene technology into the material most used in dental prostheses “to revolutionize its properties” and “improve the quality of life of patients”, according to the head of Graphenano Dental. Martínez has pointed out that it is a “more flexible and lighter material, which maintains its hardness,” and which also does not change its properties over time as it does not absorb liquids, which is the cause of the aging of other materials”. In addition, he has insisted that it is “bacteriostatic and antifungal”, and its appearance is completely natural”, so “it does not require the use of metals or ceramics”.
Martínez has highlighted that the dental sector is “very conservative” but the clients who integrate the discs into their daily practice “are increasingly satisfied”, since “manufacturing methods are followed that reduce costs and working time , making dental practices more efficient and productive.” In fact, using these discs improves efficiency by 300%. In this sense, Martínez has clarified that “thermal or complicated processes are not required”, unlike the usual materials, which “need up to 25 hours of an expert professional”.
With G-Cam discs you can make veneers, inlays, removable and fixed prostheses on teeth or implants. According to the CEO of Graphenano Dental, “the versatility of the material and its easy handling in the laboratory, added to the advantages it offers to the patient, make it the most disruptive material in dentistry today.”
Nearly 60 products for “an integral solution”.
After the success of nanoreinforced biopolymer discs with graphene, Graphenano Dental works to “offer a comprehensive solution” for dentistry. For this, it is developing 60 different products with a line of 3D resins for dental prostheses, resins for models, and resins for orthodontics.
The graphene nanoreinforced biopolymer discs are the result of more than 10 years of research, which have led Graphenano Nanotechnologies to become the first company worldwide to patent graphene for medical and aesthetic use.
