VALLADOLID, 6 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Renault Group and Mitsubishi will take advantage of the assets of the Renault Captur (manufactured in Valladolid) and Clio models to develop two new vehicles, the new Mitsubishi ASX and Colt, based on the CMF-B platform, as reported by the company of the diamond brand that has announced that the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance opens a new chapter of their collaboration.
The two new vehicles are part of the initiatives that Renault and Mitsubishi are exploring in Europe, where the Renault Group will launch FlexEVan in the light commercial vehicle market in 2026, its first vehicle to benefit from the application of Software-Defined Vehicle technology, which will share with Nissan.
And for its ranges beyond 2026, Nissan and the Renault Group will also explore collaboration opportunities in the next generation of electric vehicles in the C segment. As explained by the company with the diamond brand, to guarantee optimal charging time, Nissan and Renault Group will continue to share their technologies in European vehicles, “including the potential use of a common 800 volt architecture.”
These initiatives in Europe will reinforce previous commitments, including Nissan’s future compact electric vehicle (segment B), based on the CMF-BEV platform, to be produced at Renault Group’s ElectriCity plant in France from 2026.
