A third alarm fire destroyed a residence overnight from Sunday to Monday in the borough of Beauport, Quebec, injuring one person.
The fire started late Sunday evening in the basement of a residence, at 383 rue des Maraîchers, in Quebec, confirmed the Fire Department of the City of Quebec. The firefighters were called around 10:50 p.m. A woman in her thirties was taken care of by paramedics and transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
Around 1:00 a.m., the firefighters declared the situation under control. About fifty firefighters were dispatched to the scene, as well as employees from Hydro-Québec and the Fire Department. The first elements suggest that the fire was not of criminal origin.
