MADRID, 14 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government has stressed that the “positive” behavior of inflation – which moderated in November to 6.8% in the interannual rate – shows the “efficiency” and effects of the measures adopted by the Executive in recent months.
As confirmed by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) this Wednesday, inflation continued to fall in November to 6.8% in the interannual rate, which represents a decrease of half a point compared to October and the lowest rate since February . For its part, core inflation (excluding unprocessed food and energy products) stood at 6.3%, after rising by one tenth compared to the previous month.
Sources from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation have highlighted that in four months inflation has dropped four points, which places Spain as one of the countries with the fastest and most intense decline in the European Union.
In addition, from the Department headed by Nadia Calviño they have indicated that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) registered a month-on-month drop of 0.1% in November, in contrast to the usual price rises in the months of November, which is explained fundamentally for electricity and unprocessed food.
In fact, fuel and electricity prices continued to fall in November, making a negative contribution to the year-on-year rate for the second consecutive month.
“Spain maintains a favorable differential in harmonized inflation of 3.3 points, due to the positive evolution of energy prices, which in turn favors the competitiveness of Spanish companies”, highlighted the Ministry.
