JAKARTA, Indonesia, Dec. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tbk (IDX: BBRI) holds the UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2022 virtual exhibition from December 1 to 31. The event features 500 MSMEs from 22 Indonesian provinces displaying their products through www.brilianpreneur.com. “This year’s event aims to highlight MSMEs embarking on their path towards environmental and sustainability goals. As a development agent, we also provide education for our participants, so they can conquer global markets and inspire people to create a cause with creativity,” said Sunarso, BRI’s president director.
In 2021, the event won 118 contracts from fourteen countries, valued at about $72 million. “The figure exceeded the 2021 target. Therefore, we are quite optimistic to achieve even more this year,” added Sunarso.
The event consists of training and networking sessions, including business meetup sessions and pricing strategy workshops. These sessions are initiated to help MSMEs to expand their products, including in the international market. The sharing sessions will take place in talks with special performances and UMKM awards.
Interested buyers must register online at https://brilianpreneur.com/umkm to participate in business meetup sessions with MSMEs.
Sustainable actions of MSMEs
As an opportunity for Indonesia to showcase local MSMEs on the international scene, BRI collaborated with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) and organized a mini showcase for 26 MSMEs during the G20 Summit as a road to the UMKM EXPO event. (RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2022.
The 4th UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2022 covers six categories: Home Decor & Crafts, Food & Beverages, Accessories & Beauty, Fashion, Health & Wellness, and Digital Technology, with the participation of 262 businesswomen and five training companies to people with disabilities.
In addition to high-quality designs, all products on display must embrace sustainable creativity in many aspects, such as women’s empowerment, waste management, and equal access to opportunities.
Among these sustainable product innovators is Arana Bike, an Indonesian manufacturer of handmade bamboo bikes. Arana Bike has successfully expanded its business thanks to the BRILIANPRENEUR programs.
“Programs like the e-commerce class webinars and business meetup sessions have given us an advantage in identifying our potential buyers from different countries so that our products can compete globally,” said Denny Hestiningrum, founder of Arana Bike.
