Carrefour and Danone with nine major food manufacturers win the SIRIUS 2022 award in the initiative “Sustainable collaboration for a healthier life” in France
PARIS, Nov. 28, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The digital and in-store collaboration initiative “Le Lundi C’est Veggie” (“Mondays are vegetarian”), led by the Collaboration for Healthier Lives Coalition of Action (CHL) of the Consumer Goods Forum by the co-chairs of Carrefour and Danone, with the participation of Barilla, Bel, Bonduelle, Fleury Michon, Happyvore, Labeyrie, Nutrition Santé, Savencia and Unilever, has won the prestigious SIRIUS Award for Sustainable Collaboration for promoting consumption of healthier and more sustainable recipes. This award highlights the importance of collaboration between key stakeholders, which is vital to drive dietary change.
Developed in collaboration with consumers, in-store activations included promotional offers and multi-brand recipes to inspire behavior change and push consumers toward flexitarian diets. Key figures from the pilot project published by Carrefour in June 2022 include:
Leveraging lessons from our testing partners, KPMG and Catalina, is critical for the initiative to continue to evolve and have an impact at scale. In the current cost of living crisis, manufacturers and retailers must continue to collaborate, engage and learn from pilot projects that are tailored to the health needs of the local community, helping to keep products affordable and healthier without compromising the taste. In this way, the CHL France team has continuously collaborated in advancing consumers and restaurateurs towards healthier and more sustainable diets.
Since 2018, the SIRIUS Awards led by the Institut de Commerce recognize the best collaborative practices in the commerce sector that meet the expectations of society and consumers in France.
Pauline Guillaume, Director of CSR Projects at Carrefour, stated: “For Carrefour, collaboration with our partners is key to promoting healthier and flexitarian diets, in this case with vegetarian recipes, and ensuring that the food transition affects all plates.”
Thomas Kyriaco, Danone CSR Customer Director: “Bringing health through food to the greatest number of people and in the most sustainable way possible is our mission at Danone. This can only be achieved through relentless and concrete initiatives and collaborations. “
