Mérida (Badajoz), November 16, 2022.- The Protected Geographical Indication Extremadura Lamb ‘CORDEREX’ will participate in the VI Quality Meat Show which will gather, from November 17 to 20, about 1,000 heads of cattle, beef and sheep , goat, equine and also birds native to the region. This space is located within the Trujillo Agro-Livestock Fair which is celebrating its XXXVIII edition at the Regional Livestock market of the cacerño municipality.
This annual event seeks to make quality and local meat products known to the public, through tastings and showcookings, by chefs from renowned restaurants, every day of the fair, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
In this way, CORDEREX will participate in the tastings to promote its seal of quality through different tapas. On Friday, November 18, the audience will be able to taste the tapa “Caldereta de Cordero de Extremadura I.G.P. CORDEREX” prepared by Martín Madrid, 2nd head chef of the Parador de Turismo de Oropesa. And on Saturday, November 19, it will be José Manuel Galán, from BATUR (Cáceres) who will prepare the “Ravioli de Cordero de Extremadura I.G.P. CORDEREX”.
“It is very important for the IGP to actively participate, for yet another year, in this agricultural and livestock fair, since it represents a great opportunity to continue promoting certified Extremadura lamb meat among professionals in our sector,” says Raúl Muñiz, technical director of CORDEREX.
In addition, within the framework of the fair that has become a benchmark for livestock in the province, technical conferences, exhibitions, and sheep and goat auctions will be held, among other activities.
Regulatory Council Protected Geographical Indication Cordero de Extremadura ‘Corderex’
It is the Regulatory Council of the Protected Geographical Indication for lambs born in the Dehesas of Extremadura, which protects and protects lamb carcasses that have met each of the requirements established in its Regulations. Carcasses certified in slaughterhouses will always carry a numbered guarantee seal on the hock of their leg, as well as the seal running along the two half carcasses with the mention ‘CORDEREX’.
