The unemployment rate of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) stood at 4.9% last September, in line with the figure for the previous month and one tenth above the historical minimum of 4, 8% recorded in July.
Thus, in the third quarter of 2022, the OECD unemployment rate fell to 4.9% from 5% corresponding to the second quarter of the year.
In September, the number of unemployed among advanced economies was 33.007 million, which represents a reduction of 135,000 unemployed in one month, of which 10.988 million were in the eurozone.
Among the OECD countries, the highest unemployment rates in September were registered in Spain (12.7%), ahead of Greece (11.8%) and Colombia (11.3%).
In contrast, the OECD countries with the lowest levels of unemployment were the Czech Republic (2.2%), Japan (2.6%) and South Korea (2.8%).
