Point out that the decision is not “yet” made

MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Slovak company specializing in the production of batteries for electric vehicles InoBat Auto has stressed that the final decision on the location of its new gigafactory has not yet been made and that, in addition to Valladolid, another possible location in the United Kingdom is also being assessed.

The Slovak company has highlighted that, despite having signed collaboration agreements with both the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and with the Junta de Castilla y León, the decision is not yet closed.

“While the statement of intent is not a finalized deal and other locations are being considered, Valladolid’s wealth of talent, access to renewable energy, proximity to other OEMs and strong transportation links make it in a very attractive place for the next installation of InoBat”, has argued the company.

InoBat has also detailed that the agreements signed will ensure that, “in the event that Spain is selected”, the company will have the necessary permits and government support to advance at a “good pace” in the project.

The new facility, the location of which will be announced before the end of this year, will complement the company’s current plant in Voderady, Slovakia, and the recently announced one in Indiana, US.

InoBat’s battery ‘mega-factory’ is expected to attract investment of around €3 billion and create around 2,000 jobs.
