Mapfre has informed this Monday of the dismissal of José Antonio Colomer Guiu as a director for reaching the maximum age provided for in the company’s bylaws to belong to the board of directors, according to the notification that it has sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). ).
As a consequence, he has been dismissed as a member of the board of directors, as a member of the Executive Committee, as a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee, as a member of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee and as chairman and member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee.
Mapfre’s bylaws state, in article 16, that the directors may be re-elected until they reach the age of 70, “at which time they will automatically cease to hold all the positions they hold in the company and its subsidiaries”, even if it has not ended. his mandate.
Colomer was elected director of the insurer in February 2016 and re-elected in March 2020. The former director’s career has been linked, mainly, to BBVA: he was president and CEO of BBVA in Puerto Rico and president of BBVA Provincial Venezuela. He also served as general manager of BBVA Continental in Peru, among other positions.
