The organizing committee of the 55th Finale des Jeux du Québec de Laval 2022 – which will begin on Friday evening – and Sports Québec have paid tribute to the late Yves Collin, who participated in 40 Finales des Jeux du Québec. Deputy Christopher Skeete posthumously presented the Medal of the National Assembly to the family of Yves Collin.
Yves Carignan, Chairman of the Games Board, is accompanied by members of Yves Collin’s family, Marie-Ève Caron, her spouse Pierre-Yves Collin, and Yves’ wife, Arlette Simard, to whom MP Christopher Skeete awarded the Medal of the National Assembly.
The director of La Cage de la Place Bell, John Tyrovolas, is surrounded by members of his staff who have welcomed the numerous delegations.
Marc DeBlois, CEO of the Games, is accompanied by Michel Allen, director at the City of Laval, Isabelle Ducharme, CEO of Sports Québec, and city councilor Nicholas Borne.
The late Yves Collin, who was involved in the Montreal Games from their inception, was the mentor of several people in the metropolitan area.
Among those responsible for partnerships and communications, we see Josyanne Grenier, Émilie Duquette, Stéphanie Leblond and Maude Dupuis.
Among the members of the Laval delegation are Félix Durocher, Andrée Villemaire, Layla Bechou, Michèle Laflamme, Michaël Lapointe and Sandrine Loiselle.
Members of the Chaudière-Appalaches delegation will accompany nearly 180 athletes from the region.
