The Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur-de-Montréal recently inaugurated a new state-of-the-art trauma center, long awaited by healthcare professionals.
“For the CIUSSS du Nord-de-l’île-de-Montréal, this is really an incredible advantage. The care was already exceptional, but with the new center, the space makes the treatment much more comfortable and adequate for our clientele,” said the director of professional services at the Sacré-Coeur hospital, Dr. Josée Savoie.
The center is four stories high. It has more than 32 beds and has a team of four doctors and 18 nurses.
For the establishment’s healthcare professionals, the inauguration of this specialized center will help facilitate their already difficult work.
“From all points of view, this center will help us. With all the space we have to work, we will be able to prevent the transmission of diseases inside the units. It is a much more human work environment, both for employees and for customers. People are in private rooms, which is unheard of for us,” said Dr. Patrick Bellemare.
The hospital has also integrated into the center a mother-child unit with a capacity of 26 beds where women can give birth in a brand new space.
