A Quebec student who went to learn English in British Columbia lost her life in a road accident last Thursday.

The 19-year-old was riding a bus with about 20 other Explore language program participants when the collision took place on Highway 3A.
It was a Purolator truck that crossed the dotted line of the road before hitting the BC Transit bus around 4:30 p.m., said the highway police of British Columbia.
Students tried to provide first aid to their seriously injured classmate while waiting for help. She was later transferred to Kelowna General Hospital.
His death was confirmed yesterday. The identity of the victim has not been made public.
“Our college community is in mourning. […] We were only just getting to know her,” Maggie Matear, president of Selkirk College, said in a statement.
The young Quebecer had arrived in Nelson, British Columbia, at the end of June to study English during an intensive 5-week exchange.
