Worried about the resurgence of date rape drugs in the province, Manon Massé tabled a motion on Tuesday asking the government to ensure that all hospitals in Quebec can do tests to detect the date rape drug.

“Currently, in Quebec, it is not in all hospitals that you can get tested,” lamented the spokesperson for Quebec Solidaire (QS), Manon Massé, in a press briefing on Tuesday morning.

Not only is it impossible to get tested in some hospitals, sometimes women don’t even go to the hospital, Ms. Massé said.

“We know that women are often refused tests (once) when they go to the hospital, they don’t go to the hospital because the police tell them ‘don’t go anyway they won’t test you not”. I’m worried because it’s my daughter, my sister, me, you,” she added.
