The body of the man who had been missing since Saturday in the Dallaire stream in Baie-Comeau was finally located Monday noon, after 48 hours of research.

The victim is Michael Tremblay Gemus, 36, of Baie-Comeau, confirmed the Sûreté du Québec.

Police officers from the MRC de Manicouagan were called at 12:50 p.m. Saturday to rescue people who were fishing. A rescue operation was immediately launched.

Five people were on board the boat, including two children. Four were taken out of the water and transported to the hospital center, with the exception of Mr. Tremblay who was missing.

According to preliminary information then made public, it appears that the children were wearing their life jackets, but the adults were not.

Research on the body of water continued with the help of SQ divers on Monday.

The police force clarified that there is no fear for the life of any of the four survivors.
