Four of the five investigators revealed to “Masked singers” will be back for the second season of TVA’s great variety, which was one of the most popular dates on the small screen last fall.
Sam Breton, Véronic DiCaire, Anouk Meunier and Stéphane Rousseau will still try to guess the identity of the personalities hiding under the breathtaking costumes following each musical performance.
Only Marc Dupré will not return, but it is not for lack of interest. It is rather that we have just confirmed him as a veteran coach at “La Voix”, a great musical mass which will begin its ninth season next January on TVA. The singer-songwriter, host and producer has therefore decided to focus on his mandate at “La Voix”, where he will occupy one of the famous red armchairs in the company of three new coaches, namely Corneille, Marjo and Mario Pelchat. . The team of “Masked singers” decided not to replace Marc Dupré and to bet on the four other well seasoned investigators for the future.
As we know, the investigators of “Masked singers”, adaptation of the South Korean format “The Masked Singer”, do not lack imagination or flair to discover the identity of the singers in the costumes. Thanks to clues and musical performances, they often hit the mark and find out who the hidden personality is.
450 hours of tailoring for each costume
We took advantage of the unveiling of the four investigators on Wednesday to present two new costumes that will brighten up the second season. These are Lobster the Sheriff, straight out of a Hollywood western, as well as Cocktail tiki, which combines Polynesian art and exotic fruits. It should be noted that some forty craftsmen devote around 450 hours to making each costume. The investment is worth it when you know that the costumes are at the heart of each large-scale number of “Masked singers”.
Note that the host Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, always very chic on the set of “Masked singers”, will again be at the helm of the new season, shot this summer.
We remember that last year, among the personalities who hid under the costumes, there was in particular the host Marie-Claude Barrette, the analysis of TVA Sports Michel Bergeron, the head of antenna Sophie Thibault, the medalist Alexandre Despatie, the singers Johanne Blouin and Bruno Pelletier as well as the two big winners, Wilfred LeBouthillier and Marie-Élaine Thibert, aka the Inseparables.
Produced by Productions Déferlantes, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, “Masked singers” will be back for a second season every Sunday starting in September on TVA.
