The American Hockey League (AHL) farm club made the announcement on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the 18-year-old forward’s season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) ended. .

The fifth-round pick (150th overall) from the CH in the 2021 draft was the QMJHL’s top scorer in 2021-2022. In 66 games, he hit the target 51 times and provided 68 assists for 119 points.

At the end of last March, the Canadiens awarded Roy a three-year entry contract. This agreement will begin in 2022-2023.

The Rocket will open the AHL Eastern Conference Finals against the Springfield Thunderbirds on Saturday.
