Nadim Hajhattab was talked about in 2017 during his trial for sexual assault on three clients of a massage therapy clinic on Maguire Street when he physically attacked a TVA journalist. Sentenced to a 23-month sentence for the sexual assaults, the accused was again arrested a few months after his release from prison when his spouse at the time in turn filed a complaint for sexual assault.

The man imprisoned since 2019 was found guilty of several full sexual assaults in addition to obstruction of justice for having tried to convince his victim to withdraw his complaints. Judge Frank D’Amours sentenced the 47-year-old defendant to 5½ years in prison on all charges, but as the defendant had already served the equivalent of 4 years and 11 months in prison , he only has 7 months left to serve before regaining his freedom.
