The Canadian Football League (CFL) and the players’ association have reportedly agreed to the terms of a new draft collective agreement on Thursday.
Athletes have yet to vote for this new attempt by both parties, after refusing an initial proposal on Monday.
According to the specialized site 3DownNation, the approval bonus (“ratification bonus”) would increase from 1 to 1.25 million $ with this new offer, which players must accept or refuse before midnight, Thursday.
“We have been informed by the AJLCF that the CFL players are voting tonight on a draft agreement,” the league said on Twitter Thursday afternoon.
Commissioner Randy Ambrosie has raised the threat of a training camp freeze if the players refuse the proposed collective agreement again.
Besides the homologation bonus, the ratio between Canadian and American players is one of the points debated by the league and its athletes.
