The Sûreté du Québec opened an investigation on Tuesday after the discovery of an inanimate body in Baie-Comeau.

Provincial police officers were informed around 1 p.m. of the presence of the body under a bridge that crosses the Amédée River.
He was recovered by the fire department to be transported to the hospital center where he lay in critical condition at the end of the afternoon.
A spokesperson said that no hypothesis could be ruled out at this time, given that the investigation into the causes and circumstances of the event is in its early stages.
