EXCLUDED. According to a YouGov poll for the Internet carried out at the end of September, Emmanuel Macron is preferred to Eric Zemmour in a duel of 2nd round of the presidential election. The Bertrand, Jadot, Pécresse, Hidalgo and Mélenchon hypotheses are also tested.
For the moment, according to all the surveys of voting intentions carried out by polling institutes, a single scenario appears realistic: only Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen seem able to qualify for the second round of the 2022 presidential election. But the election to the supreme judiciary always holds surprises. Eric Zemmour is also approaching a qualification for the second election, Harris Interactive credited him with 13% of voting intentions in a poll for Challenges on September 28, just behind Xavier Bertrand (14%) and Marine Le Pen (16%).
The polemicist, however, appears far removed from a possible victory in the presidential election. The sondagier institute YouGov carried out exclusively for the Internet a study to gauge the preferences of the French on several second round hypotheses, except that still evaluated (duel between the outgoing president and Marine Le Pen). And the respondents are notably much more numerous to choose Emmanuel Macron rather than Eric Zemmour in the event of a confrontation. To the question “In the event of a duel in the second round of the 2022 presidential election between Emmanuel Macron and Eric Zemmour, who would you vote for?”, 39% answer Emmanuel Macron, 21% Eric Zemmour, 25% say they would vote white or null and 15% assure that they would not vote. Excluding the choices not expressed for both, the balance of power is as follows: 65% for Emmanuel Macron; 35% for Eric Zemmour.
Macron preferred to all the other candidates in the 2nd round
This survey is not a poll of voting intentions; it does reveal the choices of the opinion for one or the other of the political figures and the choices of a blank vote, null or abstention.
The second round hypotheses were declined with several declared candidates. According to this survey, Emmanuel Macron is preferred to all candidates in different proportions: 55%/45% against Xavier Bertrand; 61% /39% against Valérie Pécresse and against Jean-Luc Mélenchon; 64% / 36% against Anne Hidalgo; 62% / 38% against Yannick Jadot.
