The mother of two children found dead Tuesday at Hantes-Wihéries (Erquelinnes) has been charged with murder and attempted murder following the double infanticide, committed in the street of the Ball Game, said the prosecutor’s office in Charleroi on Thursday, confirming information of The New Gazette. The accused, 37-year-old, was placed under arrest after being heard several hours by an investigating judge.
The elder, 9 years old, has survived, having been wounded by a knife in the neck. The other two children, aged 7 and 22 months, were killed. The father of the family discovered the scene, returning to his home after his day’s work.
