The opponents of the proposed law to decriminalize and relaxing the conditions of abortion were granted Thursday to consult with the Council of State on new amendments. They were more than 50 deputies, from the N-VA, CD&V and Vlaams Belang, to support the request. The HRC was supportive of this request, but has not taken part in the election. The final vote of the proposal, expected this Thursday, is once again postponed.

The CD&V blocks the act of ABORTION and the formation of a government
“In such a matter, we cannot take any risk”, has justified the group leader of CD&V, Servais Verherstraeten, listing the points where, according to him, problems still arise. The christian democrats had wanted the proposal to be discussed again in the committee, but no majority emerged on this point.
