Where is abroad does it cost the most expensive? As every year, the Mercer compared the cost of over 200 goods and services in everyday life (transport, food, fuel etc.) and that of the housing in a little more than 200 cities on five continents.
This year, the inflation of the dollar has amended this list, penalizing in particular american cities. But the mégopoles asian continue to cavort at the head of this ranking.
Hong Kong to pick up, like last year, the first place of the podium. It is followed in second place by Tokyo and a third in Singapore. “This result is not surprising. These are the cities where the cost of goods and services is the absolute very high and where the housing market is also very dynamic,” comments Jean-Philippe Sarra, a leading international mobility at Mercer France.
