In this large survey regarding the 122 larger train stations of France, several criteria are selected, such as cleanliness and safety, shopping and services, or accessibility. Travellers are invited by the SNCF to give a score between zero and ten.

And, in 2018, the Rennes train station ends up at the bottom of the standings with an overall satisfaction of 5,96 on 10. A relatively low score when the average of the French stations was 7.48. In detail, the travelers have lamented the lack of information “in unusual situations” (5,12), the lack of comfort (6,22) and the difficulty in identifying the services that are available (5,69). As explained by BFM TV, the station in question is in the works for the past four years, which could explain these bad grades assigned by the customers of the SNCF.
Just above, to the penultimate place in the ranking, we find the railway station of Montpellier-South of France, which obtains a score of overall satisfaction 6.40. Follow the gare de Lisieux with a 6.50, Paris-gare du Nord, 6,51. This last gets a poor rating for the cleanliness and safety of the infrastructure (6,72 on this last point). As emphasized by BFM TV, important work will be completed in 2024. What hope for a better score in the years to come. The train station of Nice-Riquier closes the top 5 stations that are less well rated with a score of 6.68.
The best score assigned to the TGV station of Meuse
