Leading German BEE researchers deny that re is a bee-dying in Germany. “The honey bee will be last insect to die out,” says bee-scientist Peter Rosary to Time magazine. According to head of National Institute for Bee Studies at University of Hohenheim, bee will not be threatened as long as re are beekeepers.

Although in winter, bee colonies repeatedly ended in aftermath of attack with Varroa mite – but most of peoples were infected with it. The fact that actual losses have increased in recent years has been “statistically unsecured” according to data from centre for Bees and beekeeping in Mayen.

Even threat of wild bees is a less dramatic one for German researchers than is often assumed. For example, although half of all species of wild bees are on Red List, it is not possible to speak of bees dying here, says Wild bee scientist Robert Paxton of University of Halle. However, one third of nearly 600 wild bee species in Germany is expected to die out in next 25 years – “If we do not change constant intensification of land use,” says Paxton.
Bee Parasites Varroa Mite
The mite Varroa destruct or was introduced in year 1977 to Europe over Infallen Asian honey bees, which scientists of Bee Institute Oberursel brought to Germany for research purposes.
The Varroa mite is considered to be a major cause of disease-like bee-dying in Germany, which has been occurring for several years. It befalls larvae and leads to malformed bees. Asian bees are better able to get along with mite, y detect and remove infested brood cells and thus stop propagation of pest in hive.
American Foulbrood
The American Foulbrood is an infection in hive caused by bacterium Paenibacillus larvae. The already developed stretched maggots fall ill with it: y are in brood cell already closed with a wax lid.
In course of disease, entire body structure of larvae dissolves and only a viscous, brown and slimy substance remains, which can later dry to a dark scab. The name “American” does not refer to an area of origin, but to place of discovery. The disease occurs worldwide.
European Foulbrood
The form called European, also Sauerbrut , is triggered by Melissococcus Plutonius and Bacillus alvei. The still open honeycombs in which so-called Rundmaden lie are infected.
Veterinary practitioners recognize disease by watery, foul-smell ing yellowish-white remnants of maggots that die from bacterium.
An Infallen beehive can no longer be saved. In order to prevent contagion, whole people must be killed.
In this way, bee researchers are opposed to view expressed by or experts that species could be extinct in a few years. German Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) warned in Bundestag about death of bees, which is representative of necessary protection of biodiversity. Federal Minister of Agriculture Julia Klöckner (CDU) called on World Bee Day on 20 May all ministries to set up beehives on ir rooftops.
