Quebec forward Gabriel Dumont signed a new two-year deal with the Syracuse Crunch, a subsidiary of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the American Hockey League (AHL), on Thursday.

The 31-year-old veteran was a key part of the team losing to the Laval Rocket in the North Division semi-finals this year. In 75 games, the club captain scored 30 goals and 32 assists for 62 points, leading his team in total goals.
“His competitiveness and his commitment to prioritizing the team during practices and games are invaluable qualities inside the locker room as well as on the ice. As captain, he plays an important role in leading by example and raising our hopes for how to be professionals,” Crunch general manager Stacy Roest said in a statement.
Former Canadiens color holder, Dumont has amassed 385 points, including 167 goals, in 629 career AHL games.
