The company specialized in artificial intelligence (AI) and data SAS has appointed Guilherme Reis as the new general director for Spain and Portugal with immediate effect, as reported by the entity in a statement this Tuesday.
Until now, Reis served as sales director of the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) business unit in the United States of SAS.
“In this new role, Guilherme Reis will bring his industry knowledge, as well as the extensive experience he has acquired across multiple geographies since joining SAS in 2010, serving as regional leader for the Central American business units. and the Caribbean”, the company has assessed.
Within the company, Reis has also been responsible for relations with the largest banks in Brazil, something that combined with his academic training in statistics, makes him, in the opinion of SAS, the “ideal candidate” to lead the company in Spain and Portugal.
In his new role, Reis will lead the SAS business unit with the goal of helping companies “extract maximum value from their data” thanks to AI so that they can achieve “success in an environment of constant change and uncertainty.” .
In this context, Reis has been “convinced” that SAS has the power to drive growth, encourage innovation and generate a positive and lasting impact, both in organizations and in society.
Along these lines, the company has highlighted that it is investing 1 billion dollars (about 921 million euros, at the current exchange rate) in the development of innovative artificial intelligence solutions to address the specific challenges and needs of each industry.
