An Allentown man was arrested Saturday and is charged with attempted homicide for a shooting late Thursday in South Side Bethlehem.

Officers from both cities took into custody 23-year-old Tariq Dashon Page, of the 800 block of North 9th Street in Allentown, and he is expected to be arraigned later Saturday, Bethlehem police Chief Mark DiLuzio said in a news release.

The shooting happened about 11 p.m. Thursday inside a rooming house at 526 Cherokee Street. A man in his late teens or early 20s was shot multiple times and was hospitalized in critical condition.

DiLuzio on Saturday said the victim is still in intensive care.

In addition to attempted homicide, Page is also charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and weapons offenses. He is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm, DiLuzio said.
