MADRID, 16 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Banking entities have accelerated when implementing their migration to the cloud and 12% of them already operate mostly in the cloud, according to the Ascendant Digital Maturity 2022 Report published by Minsait, an Indra company.

In addition, 80% of the banks have great interest or have already developed a global tactical plan for the modernization of their most transactional systems and the migration of these to the cloud world.

“We can expect major changes in banking in the field of application transformation over the coming years. This sector has to face an increasingly changing and dynamic environment,” stressed the director of Financial Services and Insurance at Minsait, Ignacio Fernandez.

More than half of banks present a high level in the development of modernization plans and cloud operating model, according to the report.

For its part, Minsait underlines the need for financial institutions to use new channels to expand their offer and retain customers, with options such as models that unite the physical and digital world (phygital), Web 3, the metaverse or intelligence artificial.

So far, 56% of these companies have already reached agreements with at least one cloud provider, while 44% have a defined strategy. In this way, it is expected that in a period of 2-3 years practically all entities will have systems in ‘software as a service’ (SaaS) models or native cloud architectures.

On the other hand, 80% of the companies consulted have virtualized their jobs and make intensive use of collaborative tools, while 75% have a defined security model for data protection.
