A 42-year-old Beach Park man was killed Saturday evening when his motorcycle rear-ended a car on Route 41 in Wadsworth, according to reports.
A preliminary investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office found that a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle was southbound on Route 41 north of Route 173 at around 8 p.m. when it rear-ended a 1985 Pontiac Fiero, according to a news release.
The driver of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, the release said. The driver of the Fiero, a 63-year-old Gurnee man, was not injured.

The identity of the motorcycle rider was being withheld Sunday pending notification of family by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation continues, authorities said.
