The Agglomeration of Montreal issued a boil water advisory on Monday afternoon, which covers large parts of the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles and the city of Montreal East.

The areas affected by this boil water advisory are located between rue Cherrier and rue Notre-Dame and between rue Saint-Cyr and avenue Gamble in the city of Montreal East.

The Pointe-aux-Trembles district, south of Highway 40, is also targeted by the boil water advisory, as is the city of Charlemagne.

Residents of affected areas should boil water for at least one minute before consuming it or using it to brush their teeth.

This is a preventive measure. A notice will be issued when the situation returns to normal, the Agglomeration of Montreal said in a press release.
