A fight between a man and his ex-girlfriend Sunday led to him fatally shooting her father, Daytona Beach police said.
Dommick Neeley, 21, was at the apartment of his ex-girlfriend’s mother when he and his ex, Chakera Fields, 20, started fighting, said Daytona Beach Police Department spokesman Jimmie Flynt.
Neeley called his mother, and when she got to the Carolina Club apartments off Williamson Boulevard, she and Fields’ mother started fighting, police said.
That’s when Neeley went to his vehicle, got a gun and started shooting, Flynt said.
One bullet grazed Fields’ mother. Her father, Anthony Fields, 44, was hit multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Chakera Fields also ended up with a black eye during the fight.
Neeley will be charged with murder, Flynt said.
The apartment complex is just east of Interstate 95.
