British American Tobacco obtained net attributable profit of 3,959 million pounds (4,611 million euros) in the first half, 112.9% above that harvested in the same period of 2022.
The British company entered 18,721 million pounds (21,808 million euros), 2.9% above the turnover reached between January and June 2022. However, net income after discounting excise taxes on the sale of tobacco they stood at 13,441 million pounds (15,657 million euros), 4.44% more than in the previous year.
By business lines, the sale of non-combustion products grew by 18.4%, to 2,227 million pounds (2,594 million euros), while revenue from traditional cigarettes reached 10,967 million (12,775 million euros), a 1.8% above those of 2022.
Regarding expenses, the cost of materials was 2,251 million pounds (2,622 million euros), almost on par with the figure for the last year, as was the cost of personnel, which only increased by 4.5 %, up to 1,389 million pounds (1,618 million euros).
British American Tobacco CEO Tadeu Marroco said that, after 10 weeks in his new role, he is proud of the company’s performance in the first six months of the year and “the renewed energy” of the organization.
