The security chief of Facebook seems to have been transferred to anor post. Alex Stamos has for a long time been committed to more transparent dealing with accusations that Russia used Facebook to make a mood in US election campaign, New York Times reported. Or people in charge of Facebook, such as Managing director Sheryl Sandberg, had explicitly disagreed.

Stamos will leave Facebook in August, newspaper wrote. He wanted to go earlier, but company asked him to stay, because this would not make a good impression in current situation.
Stamos denied report in part. “Despite all rumors, I’m still fully engaged in my work for Facebook,” he tweeted. His “role” has changed, however: he spends more time examining future security risks.
Despite rumors, I’m still fully engaged with my work at Facebook. It’s true that my role did change. I’m currently spending more time exploring emerging security risks and working on election security.

“To make this clear,” Stamos continued to tweet: “The Securityteam was never dissuaded or discouraged by any of those responsible for checking Russian activities.”
The New York Times reports that Facebook security team has been arguing with legal and communications department for months. While security team was in favour of making discoveries of possible Russian influence on Facebook public, legal and communications department would have pointed out that business interests should be respected. It is not to be seen that Facebook attracts all attention while competitor Twitter about possible finds of Russian influence silent.
Data used without consent
On weekends, more massive allegations against Facebook were announced in USA and abroad. According to this, election campaign team of today’s US president Donald Trump Diebritische company Cambridge Analytica has been instructed to collect profile data of 50 million Facebook users in 2016 without ir consent. The goal was to program an algorithm for campaign to predict and influence voter decisions.

In order to collect data, a survey on personality traits was set up, which was registered on Facebook as a scientific research. In June 2014 affected users had downloaded seemingly harmless app Thisisyourdigitallife and granted ir access rights to ir own Facebook account. Facebook allowed this to developer of app, Cambridge scientist Aleksandr Kogan. The data n went to Cambridge Analytica without user’s knowledge.
Managing director promotes blackmail
Cambridge Analytica has rejected accusations. The EU Commission requires a clarification from Facebook; A committee of British Parliament also calls for clarification. Facebook announced that it had instructed specialists to investigate wher data was used unlawfully.
