ELBA, Italy, Nov. 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Elba Island, the island of Napoleon Bonaparte, launches “Napoleon Experience”: a new series of tourist-experiential travel experiences that will allow visitors to go back 200 years, when the great Corsican Bonaparte governed the Island of Elba.

“Napoleon Experience” will start in 2023, allowing visitors to enjoy a complete vacation in a Napoleonic key, thanks to a unique travel experience that mixes culture, gastronomy and wine, nature, folklore and, of course, sea and relaxation.

It will be like traveling back in time to the time when the emperor ruled the capital of the Tuscan archipelago. Napoleon was a great innovator who was instrumental in making the island of Elba a modern place for the time, with measures that are still part of his culture today.

“Napoleon Experience” will immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the time: they will live the emotion of the great parties in which Paulina, the emperor’s sister, was admired, they will dine at her table and taste the Aleatico wine that Napoleon liked so much , they will walk along the paths that always look towards their native Corsica, they will discover how they lived surrounded by refined crafts and precious minerals extracted from the belly of the island, and much more.

The new project will start in 2023 and will last seven weeks, from May to September, one week for each municipality on the island of Elba. Travel plans will be presented shortly and will offer various experiences from which visitors will be free to choose, creating their unique Napoleonic vacation.

“Napoleon Experience” is the result of a partnership between the public and private sectors: a virtuous mechanism that allows building innovative tourism initiatives and projecting the island of Elba into the future.

Elba hosted the emperor for ten months. A period as brief as it was intense deeply affected the life of the town and its signs are still evident today. His landing took place on May 4, 1814 in Portoferraio, where it is still possible to see the place where the first French emperor stepped. From that moment until February 27, 1815, the life of the Elba community was turned upside down by the presence of Napoleon and his traces are still everywhere. Among them, the symbol flag of Elba, which presents three golden bees on a red stripe on a white field.
